Nestled in a quiet valley between Waukon and Dorchester, right on the banks of the Upper Iowa River. Owners Bob and Kristi Hager, Aubree, Alyssa, and Alaina invite you to visit their 29-acre private campground and recreational facility. Offering swimming, canoeing, inner tubing and fishing. The scenic area is ideal for families, anglers, and avid outdoorsmen. Fish the Upper Iowa for walleye and small mouth bass. Or, within five miles of our campground, you'll find five of Iowa's best trout streams, and over 1,000 acres of state D.N.R. land. Come experience our warm, down-home friendly atmosphere!

Our property lies along the scenic Upper Iowa River in extreme Northeast Iowa. The Upper Iowa River has been recognized by National Geographic's Adventure Magazine as one of the top 100 adventures in the United States. Located along the "Chimney Rocks" on a private farm, we offer a relaxing, rustic country atmosphere. We are open year-round (November 1 - April 1 by advance reservation only) and welcome anglers (trout and bass) hunters (deer, turkey, and pheasant), and nature lovers (hiking, biking, snowmobiling and cross county skiing).

Timberline Campground is nestled on the outskirts of Waukee, Iowa, which is located just a few miles west of West Des Moines. It is conveniently situated one and a half miles away from Interstate 80, but your ears won’t be able to tell. We are located at the crossroads of the nation, where the Jefferson Highway meets the Lincoln Highway or in modern terms US Hwy 65 and US Hwy 30. Twin Anchors Campground is just 12 miles east of Ames, IA, home of Iowa State University. We are a favorite campground to many families who have been coming to visit for 42 years. R Campground Inc. is a privately owned and operated campground. It was established in November 1999 with the sole intention of filling a need for a recreational camping area in the Charles City area.

The campground covers approximately 18 acres along the Cedar River and contains an additional 3 acre pond.

R Campground is open from April to November each year. Campers may register for their stay at the registration box by the house located in the campground. Advanced reservations are suggested for busy camping weekends such as Memorial Day Weekend and the 4th of July and the may be made via telephone at (641) 257-0549. Campers are also welcome to register at the Trail Stop Mart upon arrival.

Pets are welcome as long as they are kept on leashes and their owners are willing to clean up after them.

Chuck and Joy Hanson invite you to stay in their charming 162-year old Mason House Inn Bed & Breakfast located in historic Bentonsport, Iowa. This antique hotel was built in 1846 by Mormon craftsmen coming from Nauvoo, Illinois, as a hotel for the steamboat travelers. It is nestled on the banks of the beautiful Des Moines River. (Bentonsport is one of the Villages of Van Buren County that were among Southeast Iowa's very first settlements.)

A full country breakfast is served in the 40 foot dining room at the time of your choice. Please let Joy know if you have any dietary restrictions. She will be happy to adjust the menu accordingly.

"There is a cookie jar in every room." And, as some of our taller guests will attest, comfortable beds that are of adequate 21st Century size. We feature King, Queen, and Extra-long double beds. Some rooms also include a twin bed or two for families. And all rooms have free wireless internet access, just ask us for the password.

Our Caboose Cottage is in a real railroad caboose from the Roscoe, Snyder & Pacific Railway line from Texas. It features a queen-size bed, satellite TV with DVD player, free wireless internet access, a dining area, full kitchen and private bathroom with shower. Come to the Main house dining room for breakfast with the other guests. A great, fun place to stay for train enthusiasts of all ages.

Ideal location for retreats, seminars, reunions, honeymoons, wedding groups, church groups, Murder Mysteries, quilting retreats, book club retreats, weekend get-aways, and anytime you want to 'get away from it all'.

We urge you to inquire and make your reservations early, as we have only nine rooms (each with its own private bath). We are OPEN ALL YEAR.
