Our property lies along the scenic Upper Iowa River in extreme Northeast Iowa. The Upper Iowa River has been recognized by National Geographic's Adventure Magazine as one of the top 100 adventures in the United States. Located along the "Chimney Rocks" on a private farm, we offer a relaxing, rustic country atmosphere. We are open year-round (November 1 - April 1 by advance reservation only) and welcome anglers (trout and bass) hunters (deer, turkey, and pheasant), and nature lovers (hiking, biking, snowmobiling and cross county skiing).

R Campground Inc. is a privately owned and operated campground. It was established in November 1999 with the sole intention of filling a need for a recreational camping area in the Charles City area.
The campground covers approximately 18 acres along the Cedar River and contains an additional 3 acre pond.
R Campground is open from April to November each year. Campers may register for their stay at the registration box by the house located in the campground. Advanced reservations are suggested for busy camping weekends such as Memorial Day Weekend and the 4th of July and the may be made via telephone at (641) 257-0549. Campers are also welcome to register at the Trail Stop Mart upon arrival.
Pets are welcome as long as they are kept on leashes and their owners are willing to clean up after them.
