Our beautiful cottage is fully furnished and equipped, consisting of a full kitchen, living room, one bedroom and bath. A futon in the living room allows the cottage to sleep 4. Enjoy a private fenced and gated yard, patio, brick outdoor fireplace, and cottage garden.

Kalmia Cottage comes with all the amenities of home to make your stay very enjoyable. If you enjoy thick, fluffy towels, smooth sheet and soft pillows in a bedroom filled with antiques, then this is the place for you. In the full kitchen you can prepare anything from a cup of coffee to a three-course meal. The living room, with it's full-size futon, also has Direct TV and wireless internet. Relax in the recliner or work at the desk. Have a get-together in the yard and patio.

Your hosts, Tom and Kathy Conkey, invite you to experience Irish-style warmth and charm in their historic hilltop Edwardian mansion, an "Emerald Isle" for travelers that is reminiscent of turn of the century hospitality.
Prepare to be pampered by caring innkeepers who have taken every detail into account to make your stay as relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Curl up with a good book in a quiet spot, or relax and mingle with fellow guests in the private Irish Pub.

The Inn and its Tower House have been professionally restored and exquisitely designed - complete with interesting antiques, private bathrooms (most with whirlpool tubs ... ALL en suite).

The Irish influence can be spotted throughout the house with stained glass transom windows, reproduction wallpaper from 19th century Ireland and, of course, the private Irish Pub for guests offering complimentary Irish draft beer on tap, wine, soft drinks and snacks.

The mansion, listed on the National Historic Register, is situated so that from the rooms, veranda, porches, gazebos and grounds there are wonderful outlooks to the property's magnificent tree line with the Blue Ridge Mountains and the George Washington National Forest as a distant backdrop.

Whether you are traveling for pleasure or business, celebrating a special occasion, on vacation or just passing through, escape to Killahevlin where "Southern Hospitality meets Irish Charm."

Hey there kayak lovers and soon to be. We are up and paddling in Baja. However, the winter storms will hopefully provide some great sliding opportunities while filling the lake. We plan to offer all our great services starting next May, 2008. You can paddle right from our shop, arrange a tour in Emerald Bay or arrange a drop-off. (see rentals and/or tours)

The truckee river marsh is full, beautiful, teaming with wildlife and an easy paddle from our shop. Our guided Emerald Bay trips offer world class scenery and are in full swing. This trip offers an easy way to get on the water in Lake Tahoe's most beautiful area, including a visit to the only Island on Lake Tahoe. This trip requires no experience and our guide will fill you in on Tahoe's unique wildlife, geology and other fun facts.

For the more adventurous we offer drop-offs at the closest public beach (Baldwin) to Emerald Bay (see Rentals). We continue to have the largest demo/rental fleet at the lake and will make sure you get the proper kayak for your needs whether renting or buying.

The boat-in campground at Emerald Bay is filling up fast for the summer. Call 800-444-7275 to make a reservation for camping, then call us to reserve kayaks. This campground is on the water in Emerald Bay and for watercraft only- need I say more?

Long-term rentals - We offer week-long rentals starting at $175 for singles. Drop-offs available.

The water trail map (laketahoewatertrail.org) is out and we have them for sale at $8.95 @ tax.
